Recycle Old Christmas Lights

‘Tis the season! If you don’t already have your lights up (because, really, what else do we have to do at home these days…) you’ll probably be doing so in the next couple of weeks. And inevitably, there will be at least one strand that hasn’t made it through the year.

Please don’t throw them in the trash! There’s not really anything in the lights that is biodegradable, so they’ll perpetuate practically forever in a landfill.

Your best option? Recycle them! I’ve sent ours for many years to HolidayLEDs.com so that they can be stripped down to their components, and then either reused or recycled! We’re lucky in that this company is located in our town, but they take shipments from anyone, anywhere, at any time of the year!

Check out the website for directions on how to pack up your lights, then ship them to (or drop them off at);
