Natural Frost-Free Car
Ah, fall. I love the smell of leaves on the ground and putting on pants and sweatshirts instead of shorts and tanks. I do not love scraping my windshield in the morning. Yes, we need to clean out our garage so we can once again park in it. But having to remember to go out a few minutes early than I need to leave (when I’m usually already late) and scrape the ice off of my car’s windows is not something that is realistically in my future.
Cue the search for an easy trick to avoid this!
Turns out, there’s a couple of different ways to prep your car for frost-free mornings. And, it probably doesn’t require a trip to Autozone.
Formula A: 3 parts vinegar to 1 part water
Mix this in a spray bottle and either spray on your car the night before and wipe off with a rag, or spray directly onto your windows in the morning.
Formula B: 2 parts rubbing alcohol and 1 part water
Same directions as for the vinegar. I haven’t found any sources that say one formula works better than the other, but some people say alcohol might not be good for auto paint.
Husband way: Park your car facing east so the sun melts the frost. When there is sun…
